

Dr. Margaret Nagai-Singer earned her BS in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee at Martin and her PhD in Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences from Virginia Tech. Her career has focused on connecting research, policy, and lived experience to advance intersectional health outcomes. She was an AAAS Science & Technology Policy Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Dietary Supplements. Her portfolio focused on the link between climate change and nutrition, and she also worked with the US Global Change Research Program to support the development of the 6th National Climate Assessment. Dr. Nagai-Singer has hands-on agricultural experience from her time on her family’s farm, working for a co-op, and conducting animal nutrition research with livestock producers and feed companies. Margaret currently resides in Virginia where she enjoys gardening, reading, and serving craft beverages at a local woman-owned brewery.
