Join a select cohort of early-career professionals working to develop real-world policy solutions for global food security challenges. The Food Security Leadership Council's Associate Fellows Program offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to actionable recommendations while building leadership skills and professional networks. 

Associate Fellows work with the Food Security Leadership Council on a volunteer basis.

The United States, in partnership with other countries, has the opportunity to lead in strengthening food security worldwide, advancing both our core values and core interests. But realizing this potential requires fresh thinking, collaborative leadership, and innovative approaches to complex challenges.

Our Associate Fellows help develop these solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Contribute to the development of actionable policy recommendations for the Council's Blueprint for U.S. Leadership in Global Food Security
  • Collaborate with experienced members of the FSLC community for mentorship and guidance
  • Participate in policy development processes with real-world applications
  • Join a growing network of practitioners committed to improving global food security
  • Dedicate approximately 8 hours per month on a flexible basis

Who Should Apply

We seek early-career professionals, including recent graduates and those in the first 5–10 years of their careers, who have demonstrated interest in strengthening global food security through:

  • Academic study or professional experience
  • Volunteer work or advocacy
  • Cross-sector collaboration
  • Innovative thinking and problem-solving

Application Process

Step 1: Develop Your Proposal

Write a compelling 500-word recommendation describing one specific action the United States should take to lead in building global food security within any of our focus areas.

Step 2: Submit Your Application

Email your submission to info@foodsecurityleadership.org

We also encourage applicants to post your proposal on LinkedIn and tag the Food Security Leadership Council to join broader conversations about U.S. leadership in global food security.
